I read this post GTA 3 cheats but I need some specific help. Thanks to that thread I'm going to skip the phone booth missions and stay with the guys.

The 2 I can't get past are the bank robbery and the one where you follow the taxi cab in Portland. How the hell are you supposed to get away from the bank? Any tips? Thanks!

 

1. Try getting a hefty ride..like a Hummer. There is a little alley way on the way back to their hideout that has a star for getting the cop count down. Other than that, drive like hell!

2. You just have to hold back on the Taxi one. It also seemed to let me get closer when driving a police car.

 

1. I used a hummer.....when you get to the bank, turn around so that you're facing towards your hideout. next haul ass straight ahead into the alley to lose one star off your police rating and proceed to the paint and spray.......then rendezvous!!

 

I used a mob sentinel for speed reasons. Make sure you know your way around the city. I drove like a mad man to get to the paint shop. But it was all easy after that. The alley sounds like a good way to go, too. Just make sure you are facing the proper direction when you pull up to the bank (back up if you have to) cuz the cops will be bearing down on you full speed!
As for the follow, just hang back about 2-3 blocks. You know where they are going anyway (the shipyard) so don't worry about losing them. I think they follow the same route every time.
