My wife is calling on one of her accounts in NYC tommorow. She will be coming from New Jersey.

She is going to 1st Ave between 34th and 35th streets. Her appointment is at 1:30pm. The meeting should be over by 3pm

Usually she drives in, should she use another form of transportation? or just drive like she usually does?

Also what kind of delays can she expect.

Charlie, she should be able to catch a New Jersey transit train from somewhere near you. The train will go right into Penn Station, 34th street and 8th Ave. From there she can walk or wait on line and get a cab from the taxi stand.

I say take the train over driving. There are long delays driving into manhattan. The Holland tunnel is closed and there are security checkpoints at the Lincoln tunnel. Additionally I don't know where she normally parked in NYC but the Port Authority parking garage is closed.

Goto: www.njtransit.com for train info.

I take it every day from Red Bank. Its the best way to get into and out of mid-town.

Take the train, and then a taxi. Nancy does that once-twice a week.

Depending upon where you are coming from in NJ (hey, I only live here I'm not from here so I don't know where Deptford is), she may have to take a train to Hoboken and then take the PATH train to 33rd Street. From there I would grab a cab or walk depending upon the weather (PATH station is at 33rd and 6th Ave).

I agree with Tom about driving and parking in NYC right now, it is a realy hassle.

Definitely check out http://www.njtransit.com

I wouldn't walk from 8th to 1st. Remember those are city blocks. That's gonna take awhile. Take the train then a cab.

Good point about walking. I'm the exception because I usually walk from 33rd and 6th to 66th and Columbus every morining if its not raining.
