I'm rather tempted as well, but there's a new model out (with multiple accelleration sensors that would allow you to measure forward and lateral G simultaneously etc.

 

Then again, it *is* $45... I could buy three of these to measure accelleration on three separate axes of my car and it would still be cheaper than the other one.

 

My thoughts exactly ... for $45 you can't really go wrong. If you spend the money, and it kicks ass, and you decide to buy the spendy one - oh well. You could prob still sell the old one for more than you paid (or at least the same).
