And at 3:30pm EST on 12/24, the decision was made - 75 watt Line 6 Spider 4. He's been wailing on it for a couple hours now and hasn't even scratched the surface of all the things the amp can do. All of the tech aspects should keep him engaged and allow him to really be creative. I couldn't have done it (at least not without confidence) without you guys - appreciate the insight, opinions and thoughts from all. Happy holidays.

Great! And now when the next occasion comes up, I guarantee you the FBV Express MkII would be a killer present....

my input wont do much good now but GC does have a 30 day exchange policy haha...

ive toured with a few different stacks.. and 1 vox combo.. if hes just starting to gig then i can understand not paying over 500 for a rig. the peavys are decent if you go for the stacks.. like the 5150 series.. i would suggest going with a half cab and head over a combo. anything else for this brand is pretty crappy.

the line 6 are very weak.. they only get good when ur spending over a grand.

the vox combo was paired with a 2x12 cab, with orange head and cab on the other side of the stage.. the 2 sounded good together. the vox was tour worthy and never gave any problems. The combos come in tube which is nice.

ive been out of the game for a while but i would suggest a marshall half cab and lower end tube head.. itll run u 800-1200ish but ull never really have to upgrade. if he starts to like music.. hell prob want to go this route in the near future. in that case ud have just wasted the $400 bucks u spent on this practice amp.
