If you like classical guitars, check out Taylor's new line of nylons:

Also, have you checked out Larrivee guitars? They're right in your neighborhood in Vancouver and have very nice hand-made guitars.

Yes, those Taylor Nylons are sweet, but even the cheapest one is listed at US$1,598.00. In Canada I imagine it might be around $2K Canadian. The cheapest Taylor 300 series steel stringed guitar is listed at US$1,298.00.

I've never tried a Gibson nylon stringed guitar; I didn't even know they made them. Could be nice, but I'd have to hear it first. I think you should just find the biggest guitar store around and ask them to show you everything. Or you could take a vacation to Los Angeles and just hang out in McCabe's in Santa Monica for a whole day. You're bound to find something you like.

Blau-Blau, my husband has quite an extensive guitar collection and does recording as a hobby Im sure he would love to give you some advise but he is in Las Vegas when he gets Monday I will have him reply if thats not too late. He mostly has electric ones (he's a Fender Freak) but also owns a few Paul Reed Smiths and an Ibanez and Guild, his acustic is a Taylor. There is a guy on the board whos board name is Stratocaster, I sent him a photo of the guitars but never heard back from him?? Well good luck!!! ..........VMOM
