H-A Net back up
the :8080 is so that h-a.net will run on its own dedicated webserver apart from the other 20 domains i am serving there.
I added a bunch of security and hacked the hell out of the UBB code so hopefully it will be *much* more secure. no more open access to admin scripts
the reason the site slows down is b/c of some very inefficient algorithms in the UBB code. if you're interested in why it's inefficient you can ask me later, here's not the place imho.
the reason some of you cannot access it is because the DNS control is still be transferred to me. until DNS is fully propogated, you can go to http://honda-acura.3io.com/ to access the site. the previous admin was "kind" enough to leave me with the most recent backup of Oct. 2 instead of when the site went down, so a few messages down the tubes.
i plan to avoid downtime due to hacks, there were so many vulnerabilities in UBB that only took me 5 minutes of common sense to plug up.
if you got this far then thanks for reading my post
and i hope that you give the new home of H-A.net a shot.

Is it running on its own instance, or its own box? Putting it on 8080 will make it difficult for some people to reach from behind firewalls/proxies. Why not just give it its own virtual IP? That should be relatively simple if its behind a PIX for either its own box or its own instance. Then you can just do the translation on the firewall side from 80 to 8080. Are you posting your patches to UBB anywhere? Its known to be insecure, and anything you do to patch it will be usefull to anyone else running it. (LS6, h-a, and clubsi come to mind immediately).
