Mmmmm... pho..... (wipe drool)

For you first timers, might wanna ask them to leave out the cilantro. That stuff is potent, I couldn't handle it the first time.

pho is good. most places that serve it is dirty and nasty as hell.

one time, while the waiter was waiting for our order, he stuck his finger up his nose and began diggin... man.. i ran out of there fast!

To this day, i refuse to go to a dirty pho place with nasty ass waiters

Good indication of a clean eating establishment is to check out their restrooms. If it is clean then you can assume that they keep their kitchen clean. Some of you are right about some of these wretched dirty restaurants but over time you build an immune to it or just know where you can go to a clean restaurant. Variations of Pho are on the menu so lets not get that one started. Bun Bo Hue, Hu Tieu Dac Biet, Bun Rieu. Seafood variations and meat lovers variation with different broths.

The best Pho is home cooked Pho. PERIOD. PERIOD. PERIOD.

I, too, hate going to dirty Pho restaurants (which is most of the Pho restaurants). My friend saw a cook go relieve himself then just walked out without washing his hands. Some of the restaurants have nasty sticky floors and dirty walls. Now I don't really go to Pho restaurants anymore.

Pho is best on a cold day. It doesn't really fill you up. Even if you get the XL bowl (what the vietnamese call the train bowl). I suggest to get the spring rolls and try the deserts too.
