I liked the glock - better than that .45

At this point, I dont think im gonna be worried too much about CCW - if/when that happens I'll select a handgun for that.

I've got a couple options in mind - I'm just going to try to hold/handle as many different types as I can and find the one that i just gotta have Hopefully it doesnt end up being something out of my price range (will stay away from HK's/sigs, etc )

Just wondering, are you allowed to carry a weapon in public (if you have a license) in the U.S? Are you guys really armed when you drive your cars?

Yes, you can carry a weapon in public with a license. There are a few place you can not go (government building, public gatherings*, schools, etc..) so you should be educated on those places but other then that you're good. As far as a gun being in your car you don't have to have a permit for that. Someone should chime in on this, but I think it has to be unloaded with clip/ammo in a seperate place.

Ok, thanks for the info. I did not know that.

I'm not very experienced in handguns, but I did try the Glock 17 when I did my military service in the swedish amfibious corps. I think it's a nice handgun that seems to work good under most conditions. =)

Now this is a bit out of my expertise but I've heard that military personal (or certain military personal) don't have to have concealed carry permit.... G17 is a great gun, just too big to cc (for me anyway). I'm going to be purchasing a new cc weapon very soon so i've kinda been doing my homework of a few things.

I usually carry more if I am on foot, like going for a walk at night with my wife or spending some time in the city. For anyone who thinks this is silly or simply disagrees with my right to do so....in 2000, I was attacked by a guy who was high on acid. I had never met him in my life. In this particular case, it would not have been justifiable homicide but it did reinforce the fact that you never know what might happen and bad shit does happen to totally innocent people.

Why? The new M&P and the older s/a-d/a pistols are very good guns.
