Has the internet changed you?
I think this is totally a generational answer, and also I guess to a certain degree also a personal question.
For example, I'm 25 years old. I started messing with my friends computer when I was 5. I had a computer with internet since I was 7. So it'd be really hard for me to answer if the 'internet has changed me'; since it's really always been with me. I guess the question I would have to ask myself is; would I be a different person if the internet didn't exist? The obvious answer is, duh. But in what ways has it shaped me for better or worse? Personally, I would vote much better. It's allowed me to see past the propaganda that's thrown at us on a day to day basis, as it's thinned out the bullshit smokescreen. It allows me to [easily] research whatever I want, when I want, without occupying (
) a library. It's allowed me to connect with like-minded, and like-hearted individuals that I haven't seem to easily come to meet through the day to day grind (though perhaps that's of course my fault, in just not finding them). From a social aspect, I always felt that the INTERNET itself helped me socially (as in outside socially). However, I think that cell phones did the most damage to 'social interaction' and not the net itself. It's not the use of facebook, myspace, twitter, etc., that's affected it, but rather the ways in which those applications can be so easily reached. Now no matter where you go you have an 'escape' now.

We were poor, so I didn't get broadband until I was 16...had AOL dial-up though when I was 7 and hung out in chat rooms. Does that count?
At least with cell phones I feel more "connected" than when I PM someone.

I think it's allowed me to communicate with a wider range of audiences, and it has CERTAINLY broadened my knowledge vastly. Growing up in the middle of nowhere, I probably would have gone insane without the internet connecting me to the "outside world." I've been active on forums since I was probably around 10, and I'm 22 now. I was one of the admins of a major micro RC forum by the time I was in Junior High, and had control over people three to four times my age.
I would consider my social skills to have increased a bit because of the internets and social media, I think I'm at level 45 now. my sexual stamina has also increased, before it was- oh tits, jizz in my pants, now its- seen it, seen it, old, hmmmmm.... ok that will do, nope next, bingo! my sense of hearing has increased as well, *noise* minimize minimize minimize. I'm no hermit, I go out as much as possible, the only time I'm really online is during work hours lol, socializing on facebook and here. If i'm on the computer at home i'm either watching pr0n or playing Skyrim. Outside of the internets I'm the same way, a foul bachelor frog. As far as my personality, It has enabled me to voice myself a little better to a broad group of ppl. how you perceive me online is just as I am in person.
Greatly expanded my knowledge, not only with things that I am into, but things I'm not into. Which is cool, because sometimes I'll find someone will ask a question, and I'll know the answer to it because I remember seeing it somewhere on the web.
I find myself teaching my parents things that they never knew... The internet is like a superpower. With great power comes great responsibility
. Instant information = amazing as fcuk. I still remember having to go through the library books for research when I was in middle school. Now, with the internet I can find ANYTHING I need information from as long as I search the right pages/keywords...as long as there is no porn named after whatever I'm searching for.
