Default Haunted garage?

It's my garage, she's haunted. Well, not really, but there's some electricity glitch or something. Once in a while, the garage door just opens by itself. Has this ever happened to any of you?

The garage opener is fairly new, about 3 yrs. Have you ever idea what might be going on? We will call a technician, but it costs a lot. So before that, I thought to ask if any of you might know since it might've happened to you too. Thanks!

I would change the code first just to make sure someone somehow isn't using the same code on their remote.

Do you live under a flight path? Strange stuff like this happens near airports. I know down by lindberd field I can't sent my alarm near little Italy. I thought it was just me but same thing happend to my dad's car. I also heard about radars from airplanes causing automatic garages opening. Sounds like you need to call "Coast to Coast."

Change the code, huh? Hmm...I thought it was automatically set, but let me ask someone about it.

As for an airport, well, there is a Boeing field a few miles away. It's not really an airport, but once in a while, a plane does land and take off. I guess it fits the definition of an airport then. It's Boeing's development plant.

Anyone else? Thanks!

I've had it happen in two different homes. In one it turned out to be a remote with a short in it. The contacts in the remote were sticky or something and sometimes they would just touch enough to trigger the door to open. The second time it was caused by the hard wired opener on the wall in the garage. It button wasn't always popping back out all the way, weak springs or something I guess. I ended up replacing it and the problem was solved. Might also want to check your electric eye for problems. I found frayed wires that were shorting out causing the door to open or reverse for no known reason. All of these problems were a real PIA to locate.
