Maybe, we all should end this thread!!!??

The point in arguing is to gain knowledge. At least from a philosophical standpoint. You guys are arguing in circles...Neither one of you wants to learn from the other and you are not really listening to each other. You guys end your posts with "this is the last thing I have to say..." but then you respond back. Look, just stop arguing about this. Obviously, Beig has his views and the rest of us have ours. But, you could go back and forth about this forever. Guess what though?? You guys are not any further then you were several days ago when this thing first started. Let's get back to the topic at hand...Our beloved S2000's!!!

His reviews are just what they are, REVIEWS, many of us, whether looking for mods or not, are interested in reading them and seeing the pictures.
That is where we disagree. As an he is "sponsored" by a company his reviews are really advertisements. If you went out and paid for something and had no connection to the company other than being a customer and you wrote something about it, it would be a "review".

I didn't want to single out the person who dealt with you to protect their privacy.
There is nobody I have ever dealt with besides the guy who bought my oem spoiler so you are full of sh1t or whoever is telling you they have dealt with me is.

Nice try.

I don't agree with this 100% but I understand what you are sending. If this were the only valid case to call a review then all car magazine (with the possible exception of Consumer Reports), movie review etc are advertisements. These individuals, magazines what have you all receive the products or the use of the products for free yet we often trust their reviews. Actually, I usually don't. The car magazines are far from objective and often sugar coat reviews of crappy cars to keep manufacturers happy and to keep their supply of products coming.

Who's point was I trying to argue here? Anyhow, purely objective reviews are few and far between. I take all info with a grain of salt as we all should. Just my opinion. You may now all return to arguing.

BINGO! Think Greg is going to slam the company that gives him free parts?

Someone who has paid their hard earned cash for a part and is not satisfied (or IS satisfied) is going to let you know about it. That is an objective review in my opinion.

Bieg, if you feel that S2000's should not be modified, built up or changed from stock, why would you read these particular posts? Greg clearly states the content of the post in the subject line. If he says he installed new rotors, than the odds are that he is going to tell us about the install and what difference, if any these may have made over stock-purely informational. I have never noticed Greg trying to "sell" us on anything.

Everybody has an opinion and that is the beauty of the internet and more importantly this board.

Greg has a number of reasons not to offend the aftermarket companies. They are potential sponsors for him, his club, and his S2000 days.

What good are his reviews? Do you think he is going to say something is not worth the money and effort, don't bother? Not if it is from a company giving him free stuff or he plans to do business with.

Just because I choose not to modify (beyond stuff that can easily be changed back to stock) my car does not mean I am not interested in what is going on with the S2000 aftermarket. I started a thread over a year and a half ago called "How much did Honda leave on the table?". In it I speculated that I don't see anyone getting more than a 20 HP increase without increasing displacement or forced induction. I based this on what the state of the motorcycle aftermarket was doing. Modern sportbikes don't really yield much more HP using the standard intake/exhaust/jets hop ups anymore because of the high state of tune they come in from the factory. I stated that I feel the S2000 engine at 120 HP per liter is in this same catagory. I remember people shouting me down and saying they expected big gains etc.... I said we will see won't we? Well a year and a half later I still haven't seen ANYONE (even Mugen) prove more than a 20 HP gain. Mugen only claims 15 HP.

So as of now my evaluation a year and a half ago was correct.

My point is why bother for 15 HP or less spending the money and possibly having problems with warranty issues with honda?

Of course that is just engine mods. Handling and braking are interesting also. The one actual review I read on a brake kit from one of the tuners made the braking performance worse. The X Brace and thicker swaybar seem to be good mods. Lowering kits and big wheels probably are not worth it performance wise but people like how they look. Some of the more expensive adjustable spring and shock setups are great for cars that are going to be run at the track. Would I bother with any of this for my car? Probably not as the car is just so competent as is.

Does not mean I don't pay attention to the state of the S2000 community. BTW I was probably the first person to tip people off to putting a terry towel in the well to protect the rear window back in November of 99. Here's a review for you. MUZ MAT - GREAT PRODUCT! MUST HAVE! A lot easier than having to readjust the towel all the time.
