have you ever pay off an old debt or promise?

This was a few years ago...
I was filling up at a gas station and realized I had no cash for the bridge toll that was coming up. This was before we had remote pay type devices. I paid for gas with a credit card if you're wondering. At the time, I didn't have the pin number to take out cash so I was frantically searching my car for change. The gas attendant saw me doing this and asked what was going on. I explained to him and he lent me $5 for the toll. I was SHOCKED and promised to return it to him, asked for his name and I was off.
Fast forward a month later and I'm at the same gas station. I was like, oh, I owe someone money here... Eventually figured out his name and there he was. I gave him $10 and told him I owed him money. Now it was his turn to be shocked cause he told me this is the ONLY time someone has ever paid him back. It felt like he had new faith in humanity.
