Default have you ever thought about...

I bought my S when I was 17. Right out of High school. My parents and friends tried to talk me out of it, but I went through with it. It is a very important time in a person's life, graduating and starting life out of school. That one decision has led to so many other things in my life right now. Having a nice car as a young person, I got a lot of respect from people. Especially my classmates and other people my age. It probably made me more confident in knowing that if I want something bad enough, I can get it. Aside from that I would have never been on s2ki. I don't know about you guys, but I like to think that this community has offered me a lot over the years. I would go far as saying it has been a social influence to the way I think to a certain extent. I have learned a lot about cars, driving technique, bikes... I don't want to ramble on, but I think you get the twist. that one decision has affected me in many many ways.

I'm probably not the only one. I know that all the decisions you make in life will affect to in many ways in the long run, but a car is the second biggest purchase people make. Especially at a younger age it sets your standards higher for the rest of your life.

How about you guys?

It has allowed me to meet some of the greatest friends I will ever have and has opened me up to the world of very high performance machines.

It also schooled me on finance. I bought the car, but it was at the price of eating Ramen and bologna. . . after I totalled it, I got my finances back together, and am on the road to $$$. . . with enough change leftover to buy another S2K next year (well, depending on the re-fi).

oh and I just wanna add to how it as changed my standards for a car. I have driven a lot of cars, but nothing feels connected to the road like the S. The only other cars with a similar connection are NSX and GT3.

i bought a 2001 ap1 in 2004, thought it was a good deal on a fine track toy. during this time to now all but one of the local club tracks have closed in my area, originally where were like 4, one next door to my house.

needless to say here no life change 4me.

i bought a sportbike before this and it was somewhat more interesting.

^ yup....met some great people. and most of us don't even have an S2000 anymore.

but i attribute it to this website...not the car.

i'm sure if i had some other car 7 years ago, i would've joined that forum, and would have met some great people on there.

the s2k showed me how passionate driving can be, and I will probably never be happy with a simple car again. both good and bad i guess
