When I right click on my computer, go to properties, and then to performance, it says 512.0 MB RAM, but it's still saying 128 in DOS.

I'd like to replace the memory and see if that fixes the problem but I'm a little worried that this money would be wasted.

The computer is about 2 years old, I don't think it's still under warranty. I've tried running scandisk but even that won't work - It keeps restarting even though every program other than explorer and systray is closed.

The mid-game freezing started when I put a new video card in there. It's actually a 128 mb geforce 4, I said earlier than it was 64. Maybe my motherboard or operating system can't handle it?

I'd like to format but I don't have a copy of Windows XP - only 98 2nd edition. Is it possible to download XP on Kazaa and put it on a CD and reinstall windows with it?

Uber-s2k if I did get another computer I'd definitely build it myself, I found a good website with some instructions but some help with the actual parts would be much appreciated. Here's what I'm looking for:

P4 3 GHz
512MB or 1GB RAM depending on price.
60GB hard drive, maybe more if the price is right (I don't really know what difference the RPM makes)
I have a good 128 MB video card already
CD-RW drive
NIC card for DSL
Good sound card
2 good speakers and a sub
Windows XP pro (I guess)

Nice looking black tower, black keyboard, black mouse, and I'll buy a black flat screen monitor later.

Thanks!
