Having surgery on Monday.
You know what would've been fun? To go into the hospital and switch charts with someone else that was having a surgery that day. Kinda like Russian Roulette. You would have no idea what might be fixed/probed/removed/enhanced/etc. What an adventure!!!
Too bad your brother was doing the surgery. He probably would've realized that the charts were switched.

Dilaudid is Hydromorphone I thinks...
Generally, I would have a NP write the pain scripts for my patients. I'm not a chest cutter, I did primarily catheterizations.
I didn't usually prescribe anything stronger than Percocet. I've never written a prescription for either Dilaudid or Fentanyl. Too much risk of addiction.

You are correct. I'm not a pharmacist.

usually Marcus says smart things. Today wasn't one of those days.

OK, so maybe it wouldn't have been fun, but it would've made for an entertaining thread.
I'm doing fine. My father is on life support due to the incomptenance of middle-eastern doctors. It's just been misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis. These guys are 100% incompetant. He's developed pneumonia. My brother and I have fired the ICU team. All recommended procedures must be OK'd by us.
I'm recovering well, but my father developed complications and is in ICU in critical condition. My brother fired the enter ICU team due to incomptence. (They were giving my father Heparin as a precaution against a pulmonary embolism.) My Dad, also an MD, knew this was not SOP, punched two ER doctors. He thought that they were trying to kill him.
Let me tell you, Foreign educated MD's are generally not as qualified as US born/educated MD's.
The Taliban MD's so far have diagnosed a PE and double pneumonia. (both wrong).
Please say a prayer for my Dad!
