You should still be able to. They change their web site so often sometimes I have difficulty finding things but that's how I bought mine.

I *highly* recommend the Samsung PLH403W. It isn't HDTV, but it's 16:9, super lightweight and has an amazing picture.

i just bought the toshiba CW34X92 off ebay for 2250, http://www.audioreview.com/reviews/TV_Larg...uct_48237.shtml

projection tv's just aren't up to par unless you want to spend >10k for a DLR.

I'm in the SF bay area, so I get HTDV broadcast today. All the channels are available in digital, and many prime time shows are broadcast in wide screen high definition. There are actually a couple of channels available on digital that are NOT available in analog.

This is quite fortunate since I don't get cable where I live and broadcast reception sucks (ghosts, static, etc.). HDTV reception, however, is flawless and provides a perfect picture and digital sound.

XFiles, for instance, is broadcast in wide screen, high definition! So are several other shows, but XFile is the only one I watch religiously.

Right now I have an HDTV box (RCA DTS-100) that decodes the signal, and then shows it on my regular TV. Same box does TV & DSS.

I need the widescreen tv for broadcast, not just DVDs. Compared to HDTV, DVD quality sucks.

Yeah, and it's a Daewoo!

I think we bought the box for $499, but that was in 1999. They may be cheaper now.

The other cool think about the box is that it has StarSight built in, so it kinda some many of the features that a TIVO or Replay do, but it does it on a VCR. You can basically select a movie sometime in the future on DSS, click a button, and it will schedule it for recording.

When the time comes, the box will automatically start your VCR, record the movie, and stop the VCR when done. I have most of my favorite programs set up to record like this so I don't have to be at home to watch them.

Doesn't do the pause stuff, but I don't really need that... I can easily pee during a 2 minute commercial break and be back before the show starts over.

that's cool. and yeah, i know it's a daewoo, but the picture was incredibly sharp. i did a search and found that they use a toshiba crt, their main task was integrating w/ hdtv decoder.
