I have the same phone with Verizon and my hinge is squeeking already.

 

the hinges will squeak a little bit.......they break due to people slamming them open or dropping them while they are open on the flip portion of the phone.....i have a T720 as well.....it broke when i threw it onto the ground real hard.....OOPS

 

i had that problem with a samsung phone from sprint 5 years ago... i fliped it open once and the top just flew open. no crack or anything.. just gone!!!

i don't think the problem is due to motorola. A good majority of the cause is like chucksaid.. user error.....

but i found out that if you call motorola and complain that it is your 3rd one, they might give you a free one.

 

I had the same problem with my GSM StarTac years ago... I went through 4 of them. Hence it was the last Moto I'll ever own.
