Hello Moto :(
i have a sanyo 5300 and never had anything like that happen, and i tear this phone up ,. .been thrown, dropped, kicked, . .etc etc. but on another note, rather than replace the phone, you could jsut replace the entire housing. check for a "global cellular" near you and they will be able to fix that for you.
I had the Motorola T720 for my verizon wireless service, and it is by far one of the worst phones that I've ever owned. Now that I think about it just about all of the really bad phones that I've had were all Motorola with the exception of one older LG phone. The motorola phones are crap. Even when they are working according to factory specs, things like the volume and menus are worthless and hard to navigate through. I had to return my Motorola T720 7 times before I finally gave up and got the new LG vx6000. My new LG is shaweeet, but I would highly recommend that you get a different phone alltogether.
