Default Help! how do I get my computer to load faster?

My computer recently started to load on to web-sites pretty slowly now. What's going on? Is there a way to speed up the process? I'm using AOL 6.0 My compaq's spec is 128mb running @ 900mhz. And using a PCTEL Platnium V.0 modem. What can I do?

Couple of things come to mind... clean out your temp files, and defragment your hard drive. That should speed up loading your browser. If it's internet speed that's the problem, well, you need to look at your connection, maybe your ISP is taking on more than they can handle, and needs to increase their bandwidth to the Internet. Nothing you can do about that, except complain or change to broadband or DSL.
