Help a kid out, come on!?
Lets just say a close relative of mine did poorly in high school, failed out of community college three times... He then signed up for the Marines and went back to college afterwards. He went straight through college from that point with a 4.0 each semester and earned a PHD in electrical engineering at UT knoxville. From there he worked as a consultant for ADEC, Martin Marietta Lockheed, and is now a tenured professor in Electrical Engineering at Tennessee Tech University with multiple campus wide teaching awards and a nomination for yet another this year. He has also successfully ran a buisness drafting electrical diagrams and occasionally works as an expert consultant for court cases involving patent law with electrical devices. Both of his kids have undergraduate degrees. One is working towards an MD while the other is working toward a second BS in Electrical Engineering and plans on following in her father's footsteps in receiving a PHD.
It's never too late to turn your life around. It just takes a lot of hard work and determination. Remember admissions personel love to hear a great underdog story..." well i was once a failure but have since turned my life around am I am doing X number of succesful things"
The military is a great place to learn discipline, a prerequisite for success.

You might be a late bloomer like me. After working min wage for 2 years in HS, i cleaned my act up. I think i had a C average until junior year in HS, then faced reality and started kicking my own but. HS is tough, peer pressure, trying to fit in but in the long end its only the first 17 years of your life. I see all the jocks and popular kids in HS still working at the mall. It's a bit hard to approach them since they still talk and act like they did in HS. Everyone has potential so, straighten up and work hard! I'm 27 now and have completed both my Bachelors and Masters in architecture. I wasn't the top of class but still graduated with honors. I had many sleepless nights but in the end it pays off. A lot of hard work= A lot of money! Good luck and don't give up.
