If you intend to go the cop route (I would ), then I would suggest against speaking wiht the parents. There's nothing you can say to them that would get the kid in the proper amount of trouble he deserves, and judging by the father's carelessness with money (20 suits?) he may want his kid teaching him how to scam people for so much money!
If you can, figure out what bank the money was supposed to be deposited into, then call them. Give them all of the info you have, and explain how they may become liable now that they have been made aware one of their members is illegally transferring money into one of thier accounts. They may even freeze his bank accounts (and his parents!), so wouldn't THAT be a nice "How do ya do!"
I wouldn't speak to the parents. This is definitely something that needs to be handled by the police and you'll just be putting yourself in a volatile situation that has no tangible benefit to you.
way to go Dave. i see you've done pretty darn good on getting this guy. since you've discovered he's a thief, definitely get the law involved.
at the start, i was just going to suggest a tactic used by another Dave i know.... when he needed to get revenge, he developed something called "the p0rn b0mb" that was his personal little "howdy doody."
basically, he would subscribe them to every kind of nasty disgusting p0rn0graphy possible (think gay midget s@x, old ladies, extra-extra-extra-large, etc), order them bizarro stuff COD, subscribe them to "dating services" of the most unsavory type, etc.
talk about screw with someone's head... especially if you had it all sent to a work address...
Again, Im not debating on wether to call the cops or parents...The cops are getting involved regardless. Just figured I tell his parents " Hey, your son's life is over deadbeats!"

Great work though!!
The parents will find out soon enough. Better to let it be a shock.
