Thumbs down HELP needed with excel

hi everyone,
does anyone know how i can replace a number with something else in a column
ex:
i have 00994455 in a column and i want to replace the first 0 with a ' . anyone know how i can do that. i have 900 numbers in the column so i dont want to do it manually.
your help is greatly appreciated

yes, say your stuff is in column a, first cell with the number is cell 'a1', you'd enter =replace(a1,1,1,"'")

i'd do that in cell b1, then hold your mouse over the bottom right corner of cell b1, then double click

so lets say i want to replace the first 0 of each number with ' from c1 to c900 , what do i type in?
