Default HELP! Proposal Ideas!!

I have been around this forum for almost 2 years now, and have gotten a lot of help from everyone. But it was all car related. Now I need some help with my woman. Some of you may have met her during the Asheville meet.

I finally bought a ring and am ready to ask her to marry me, but I have no clue how to do it. I need help. Throw some creative ideas at me guys, please.

Now, i can't go out and rent an airplane, or take her to Hawaii or anything like that. I spent a lot of money on the ring, so we need to keep this somewhat affordable (not cheap, just within reason).

Thanks guys (and ladies too. Don't be affraid to throw some at me)

I see your not into the traditional, sit your women down, feed her face and give her a ring idea. Ok well, it all matters, If your women has a sense of humor, lol, do something like go to dinner, and give the ring to the chef or whatever, ( trust is involved) tell them to insert the ring in whatever food she is having. When you see her with the "what the **** is this" look on her face looking down on her food. Quickly run around the table, and ask her to marry you. Or Imagine this, Your a women, your going with your BF to the movie theaters on a regular night out. Your at the counter after a long line. And you hear him tell the ticket guy, "1 adult ticket for Ali and a engagement ring". You think your heard your BF wrong but out comes the ticket, followed then by the ring. He then takes the ring, falls on one knee and asks you to marry him. You have to ask yourself now, should I tell him I'm really a man now, or on the Jerry Springer Show?

If your going to get married, I would expect your wife not wanting you to endanger your life with such a deadly, dangerous, lawless supra. If you plan on selling it, I'll be your first man. Gotta love those supras

Well ... first off, pray she doesn't sneak a look at this site to find out what you do all day (then the surprise is already ruined).

Then ... I would say less important is the setting, and MOST important is to let her know how much she means to you.

I do really like Ace's idea of the movie ticket, that would be really cool and unexpected!

Just make sure you then take her inside the lobby and tell her how much you love her and look forward to sharing your life with her. You will probably be so scared, you'll give her the ring and then clam up. Plan for what comes after (like, when are we going to have the wedding?) I flew this past my hubby as we were sipping champagne to celebrate and it totally blew him away (isn't being engaged enough? type thing).

Of course, not knowing you or your GF or the circumstances, my advice could be totally lame.

My friend recently proposed using the following. He is a hunter, and frequently video tapes while hunting. He was at one of his friends house with his girl. He was showing the tape to his friend. She had already seen it and was complaining, and very bored. He had recorded fairly traditional proposal over the tape somewhere in the middle. This has many benefits.
1. Surprise.
2. You can edit, see the proposal, and make changes until you are comfortable with the result.
3. You will always have that, plus if you want others can see it after. Parents, etc.

I am not suggesting taking up hunting, but I think this is different, and could be applied to many different ideas.

Just heard recently about freezing the ring in an ice cube and putting it in her drink. Would be hard at a restaurant, but not at home.
Best is to take her out to dinner, arrange a quiet corner and pop the question.
I like the video tape idea. Lots of ways to make that fun!

The only downside is that you'll waste the price of the tickets. I'll guaranty you that after the proposal she won't calmly sit down and watch "Ali".

Buy her a puppy and tie the ring to its collar with a note asking "Do you want to keep us?" At least you'll get to keep the puppy.
