I though about it in 2 ways. Either make is very public or a very private thing. And then should I do it in front of her family (they are really really close), or should it be just me and her at the beach?

 

Private. Definitely. Do not risk putting her in an embarrassing position. (She might look at it that way even if she would say "Yes.")

Or you can test the woman. Let her make your dinner or make your bed and hide the ring where she'll find it ( if she does what you say ). If she put up a fight when ever she has to make the dinner, imagine what going to be in 2 years from now?? DUM DUM DUM

If you know for sure--the answer is YES! Then do a public scene. Record yourself proposing to her on video. Record yourself talking about the first time you met her...you couldn't take your eyes off of her, you want to share the rest of your life with her, she's the love of your life, etc... you have something to ask her. Take the video and her to Best Buy (or somewhere with lots of televisions.) Tell her you want to go shopping for a 65" T.V. Ask the sales guy to pop in the video when you are there... and drop on your knees while sales guy is bringing white tulips (or fave flowers) to her and put the ring on her finger. and VOILA! Her knees will be shaking, heart pounding, smile and tears of joy rolling down her pretty little cheeks...

Don't do it with the family--what's exciting is that--her experience was her own and not only does she experience it but she gets to relive it everytime she tells someone how you proposed to her.
