Would Adam be able to survive without food? Yeah, he has the ability to regenerate. But if he doesn't eat or get nutrition, he wouldn't have anything to regenerate.
I know they said that they only way to kill him is to cut off his head. I would think not eating for a while would probably do the same.

They need to have more power wielding epic battles in some episodes. They could have easily had a showdown with swordfight between Hiro and Adam, or Hiro disappearing and reappearing all over the place and cutting Adams head off.
