I graduated from high school almost 20 years ago. A guy just died and left a ex-wife and kid. Apparently he had been jobless for a while. A few emails got posted that she could use the $ much more than donating it in his name to a foundation, etc..
I probably didn't say more than a few words to this guy after about 7th grade and he probably wouldn't send my kids $ if i were to die..... not sure anyone in my graduating class would... I was a big(ger) idiot back then.
anyway...... I was going to send $100. Not going to break the bank either way but what is your view on this?
a different "popular" guy died 3 years ago and all of the other popular people created all kinds of stuff including an annual golf tournament to help his kid get through life. The new guy to die wasn't nearly as popular.
here is a picture of the recently deceased daughter.
Personally I think it's like anyone else in the community that suffers a huge loss. Some people like to financially help strangers who have lost everything in a fire or pay a kid's medical bills. Guess it just depends on what your and wallet tell you.
Do it only if you WANT to... doing it because it would be a 'noble gesture' is not noble. Personally, I probably wouldn't send any money... but I'm a stingy a*hole.
okay...so some mixed answers.....I was just curious.... I am not rich but I can afford to send $100.... does it really matter... it could... i will never know really.... I would like to think it is for a good cause.... the guy was a decent guy so i can only assume his wife and kid are decent people...
