I was just watching Discovery Science and there is a special on laser light as a new weapon.

They showed how concentrated beams of laser light can vaporize solid titanium or turn polycarbonate into "souffle"! They had demonstrations of this! WOW!!!



They are talking about concentrating the entire energy that would light a stadium football field into the size of a pinhead...

Yikes, I hope I don't piss anyone at NASA off! Man!

 

If I remember correctly they have lasers almost as hot as the Sun, yet you can stand 5 feet beside the thing. Just don't get in it's way

Has anyone heard/read about a "pulse gun" that is in testing? It sends two laser beams and charges the particles between them, creating an energy pulse that can aparently do some serious damage. I don't remember where I read it but I remember they were talking about how similar it is to teh Star Trek phaser guns thingy ... I wish I still had that article.

 

So are we talking about weapons from Video games? Kind of sounds like it. I wonder what the war is going to be like in the future..... "Quick, shoot that sniper with your anti-force field penetrating reverse gravity light gun!"
