Asparagus is a perennial plant,it needed a area of 4-5 feet for the development of single plant.Soil PH should be around 6-7 for them.

JS is correct. Thought I should point out that you have to be patient. It is not advisable to harvest spears from the crowns until two years after planting. We have some established beds in our glasshouses formerly used for cut flower production. We cut the first spears of the season this week. Commercially produced asparagus has become available in the UK for the first time this year through Waitrose.

Ours has started (last weekend). We are using old feed buckets & some old rubbermaid bins this time. Things seem to be starting off with a bang! We plated radishes, tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers so far. I want to try sunflowers as well.
