speaking of gardens we planted 2 tomato plants, corn, carrots, green (bell) peppers, & sunflowers.

Only the tomato plants flourished Our peppers came up, but only one plant produced fruit & they were pathetic. I want to try again in the spring.

I can not wait for spring to get the gardening going. It is a better time of year than winter.

I think we waited too long to get the ball rolling... I didn't mention the carrots did come in sort of... There were leaves, but no carrot!

Lots of water for carrots. I plant the seeds fairly heavy, and then thin out the slickly ones. Carrots takes a while to grow, maybe it was to early to pick them.

could have been. I am considering moving the garden elsewhere this next time - kinda like crop rotation in a sense.

I want to have a garden this year - I cleared out a space inside my fence last summer and its ready for plants. I figure some basics like tomatoes and peppers, and maybe something more ambitious.

Ahhhh a garden. The thought of planting is far off because of the ninty feet of snow covering what used to be peas, beans, potatos, cucumbers, etc.

I am more worried about an apple tree. We have three that were young trees planted four years ago. Two have given off apples four years straight, the fourth, which is the tallest and healthiest looking one has never blossomed. If it has no blossoms this year it is getting an axe and a replacement.

If anybody knows how to coax the tree in to bearing fruit let me know.

Anybody have experience growing asparagus?

I heard you just have to plant them once and they'll keep coming back each year.
