The car is actually US legal, as it was imported by a registered importer in New Hampshire. I've got about $8k into the car, and I purchased it because I wanted a piece of Honda history. The founder of Mugen motorsports (Soichiro Honda's son) designed this wacky car. It is a 1.2l turbo, a rarity, as Honda only marketed one other type of turbo production car. (maybe they learn quickly?
