Default Honorary Doctor of Science Degree WTF??

Bush was presented a honorary doctor of science degree from LSU this past Friday while there to speak at commencement.

http://www.lsu.edu/highlights/042/events.html

I worked my a$$ off for four years to earn my BS in Chemical Engineering degree graduating with a mid 3 GPA.

Can anyone tell me what George Bush has done to warrant an honorary doctorates in science???

Excluding his current accomplishments as president , his history basically seems to be that he was born a rich kid, into a rich family, and has shown little/no ability in anything he attempts. He nearly flunked-out of Harvard graduating with a low C average, he failed in his family

Geeze. Don't have a kitten. Honorary degrees are common. Clinton got them from a college in Ireland, a university in Japan, City College (NY), etc. Bill Cosby got an honorary doctorate from Baylor.

It's not as if you can do anything with them.

^^ Dunno why it was science. Maybe the head of that department pushed for it. It's a pretty silly practice when you get right down to it.

The honorary degrees don't bother me. I would, however, have a problem with someone getting an honorary doctorate and then putting "Dr." before his/her name.

my brother is getting his Phd in Poily Sci right now. I always bust his balls and say that I am going to recieve an honorary doctorate some day.

I tell him he is going about it all wrong.

I have one question about this. I Pres. Bush going to tell people to start calling him Dr. Bush. hahahahhaha
