horrible dolphin video from Japan....
Yes, cruel, violent, senseless.... or nature? What do you think happens out in nature, orca whale swims up and takes a bite out of flipper, same thing. Death is unavoidable, and I know this seems very cruel, but don't let people drag you into thinking we are the only "cruel" beings on the planet. We may be more intelligent, but we are animals all the same, we just have come up with a faster way of killing.
Yes, they could've done without draggin the dolphin on the ground, or come up with a faster way of "putting them down," but this is nature, like it or not.

Dolphins are very intelligent as anyone will attest to who has ever interacted with one.
I once had 3 Dolphins tell me a story underwater. I didn't get it all but I got enough that it freaked me out.
This was in Roatan at the Dolphin research center there. You used to be able to swim with the Dolphins. If they liked you they would play with you and talk to you. For me they enacted "escaping" from the pen. Actually that was almost a daily occurance as the "captivity" was more of a suggestion than a reality. As long as the Dolphins liked what the researchers were doing, in other words as long as they didn't get bored, they stayed,
The time I was there they enacted picking up the net from the bottom and swimming out. 2 of the Dolphins would grab the net in their mouths and lift it so that the third could swim under. Only he would stop underneath and just sit there and look back at me as if to say "Come on, it'll be fun." I got worried he would get tangled up in it because he never would go all the way out even tho the way was clear.
Keep in mind that that the netting stopped at the surface and the Dolphins routinely jumped over and then back in so I was worried.
I surfaced and called for the Director and he just laughed and said that they must like me as they were telling me their great adventure of "escaping" and going up the coast line, hunting for food and the fun they had. With that in mind I went back under and enjoyed the show. When I swam over like I was going to follow him out, they stopped me.
Then, now that I knew the idea of what they were doing they entertained me with races, jumps and even fake "attacks" upon each other. I am guessing the attacks symbolized the hunting. It was absolutely enthralling.
I have swum with Dolphins in the wild many times since then and it is always captivating. They are all different but very much like humans. You can just see their brains going 90- nothing in there. I have been snubbed by Dolphins and had a Mama Dolphin let me get near her young un even tho she wouldn't let anyone else near.
Nothing and I repeat NOTHING could warrant eating a Dolphin, it would be like eating people.
^c'mon we cannot discriminate on what animals are okay to be eaten and which are not based on intelligence. either we hunt, kill, and eat animals, or we don't. it's really not fair for certain animals that we give preference to sparing other certain animals for whatever reasons. the only probably viable reason for sparing and making it illegal to hunt, kill, and eat a certain animal is if that animal species has the possibility of approaching extinction.

Actually it could have been done without the Dolphins. I have slaughtered pigs and cows and understand what goes into procuring food for the table, but that was with "dumb beasts" vs. intelligent life forms.

why not just shoot the damned dolphin so it is dead.....then chop it up.
I can't imagine someone sticking anything living with a huge knife, then just watching it flop around in horrible pain......
Hopefully all of those dicks in the video get cancer....

no need to watch this, I know what I am going to see.
killing animals bred for the express purpose of being food is one thing. Going out and harvesting animals not considered to be a "food item" by 99.9% of the world's population is quite another!

It is obvious that VTEC Junkie has never had the experience of interacting with a Dolphin.
Yes you can and you'd better use intelligence as a criteria for food sources. If not you'll be eating the neighbors kids soon. Dolphins are so much smarter and more loveable than the neighbors kids!

Don't know what makes you think Pigs are dumb. It's a well known fact that they have a higher intellegence level than dogs....
With that said, I hate the thought of these poor dolphins being killed...
