So that Russian lady gets tackled but gets no chance at a rerun.? I am not sure how you should work that. The USA got 1st and 3rd, but in my opinion it should be rerun or something.... or let the russian run and if her time is faster she wins.??

It was dumb how after the inccident, all the attentions was going towards the black lady since she was the favorite. The russian girl wasn't even mention until later. Im pretty sure if it was the russian chick that bumb into the black girl, they would have let her re-run it.

Neither were allowed a re-run.

Those are just the rules.

If you allowed re-runs it would be open to abuse. Get a bad start, intentioanlly collide with another athlete and give yourself a chance at a re-run ..... I don't think they would be able to police it well enough. Also, running against the clock is very different from running against other competitors.

 

it defeats the whole purpose of the best of the world gold medal titalists. how do we truly know if they are the best if its not fair or fairly run..........what a pity

Hey people, it is a race. No do-overs or re-runs. It sucks when you get taken out through no fault of your own but thems the rules.

They don't re-run the German Grand Prix if Jarno Trulli dive bombs the first corner and crashes out Kimi Raikonnen do they? Even though Kimi never even saw him coming and was not at fault?
