How come I don't see any S2000's in professional races?

Default How come I don't see any S2000's in professional races?

A while back while I was watching 12 hours of sebring on speed channel, I saw that teams were running porsches, corevettes, and vipers. Now I know we don't have the V8's to compete with those cars in a professional race like that, but how come we don't see the S2000 in any professional racing (and I mean more then just being a pace car). Is it just destined to be a SCCA Solo II car for its lifetime? Is it because of the lack of cubic inches? In the GT World Challenge series there was a supercharged NSX competing with Audi's...so why not have a supercharged S2000 compete along with them? Would that still not have the straight line acceleration that is required?

Or am I just missing something here and the S2000 is used by some teams in professional racing and I just haven't heard/seen it?

You are just in the wrong country. There must be hundreds of them raced in Japan. Here in Aus there is a couple doing the rounds in GTP racing. They do quite well with the faster one running near the head of the field if not in outright contention against the Evo Lancers and the like.
