Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that just because someone is HIV positive (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) does not, in 100% of cases, mean that they will develop AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome).

People can be HIV + for years without developing full blown AIDS.

I just saw something on PrimeTime or somthing that showed how in sub-Saharan Africa something like 40% of the population is dying from HIV complications or full blown AIDS. With modern medicine reaching most of our HIV pos US citizens, we can control this better. It is not a boiling issue here as it was in the 80s.

Africa is an entirely different story and the media is beginning to realize it. Saddest part is that most infected in Africa are children born with it.
