Default How do I stop these messenger pop-ups?!?

Someone told me once before, but I dont remember and now that I re-did my HD, I need to do it again. Can anyone help me? Please?!?

Start, Run, enter this code.....

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove


click enter, a thing might pop up asking for permission click ok (or whatever it says) and kiss it good bye.

Also google that code I wrote and you'll find out more specific information.... which I recommend you do first because my directions might be off a little.

Right Click my Computer / Manage / Service and Applications / Services / Messenger / Double Click on Messenger / Startup Type "Disabled".... Tada

This is the way I do it. But it only stops the messenger popups, not the more annoying ad popups.

but it will reinstall itself when you update windows, word, email client, pretty much any microsoft product.

I forget exactly how it does this, but that run prompt I gave you will delete or remove what ever it is that activates the "reinstall" of the messanger.
