Default Best free spyware program?

I have Search & Destroy Spy Bot now. It works OK. Well untill I networked my house and it made me take of the firewall. Now when I wake up in the morning I have a endless pile of junk on my desktop.

Thanks,
Dave

Ad-ware 6.1 is good for removing pop-ups.

First stop the messenger service. Then I would say Spy Bot or HackThis! Ad-ware is not kept up to date as well as Spybot at all.

If you have XP, right click on My Computer and select MANAGE. In that pop-up, expand services and applications. Then select services. On the right side, scroll down until you see the "Messenger" service. Double click it. Click the stop button and set the drop-down box to Disabled. Click OK. and you're done.

If you have other OS', go into start/settings/control panel and select the services Applet.
