my wife seems not take notice of things she is not interested in.

things not interested in:
-no comment when the sportbike showed up in the garage
-never commented on any mod to the bike or car
-not interested in track mis haps, speeding tickets
-no interest in any tools

things of interest:
-any new clothing i buy for myself
-she showed some interest when a new car turns up or goes away
-she complains bitterly about the (2) irish setters

management is essential:
-let her pick the clothing
-always give 10% of any auto sales to her
-always fix her car before...
-buy (2) large irish setters so she complains about the dog (s) not you.

You just have to surprise her with stuff. Also, don't ever let a purchase by her go 'un-balanced.'

i think the best method is just to say "yes honey" "oj babe" "sure, no problem: ya know all of those kiss-ass remarks, but in all reality your not hearing damn word she is even saying. your simply just trying to put a smile on her face by agreeing with her. the great part about it is you can work on your car, watch football, drink beer ETC and make her smile all at the same time...... you need to come up with about 10 different set responses that work with your signifigant other and randomly scroll thru them so they change and therefore she thinks your actually listening and they you may even care.....but guys come on we all know the truth.....we dont care

I just say, of course you are more important, but you really don't want me giving you 100% of my attention, you'd want me dead after a week.

After being married for 35 years my response is always "You are dear" after which we both laugh and then have a real discussion.

Switch the topic real quick and ask if that was a new pair of Shoes or a new hand bag you saw.
