There's really nothing I can unilaterally do. I mean, even if I had money, power/influence, you still need to get people to buy into whatever the idea may be.

In terms of a massive global disaster, it may change some practical behaviors, I don't think it'll change human nature. If what I think you're looking for is a collective paradigm shift in human nature/innate thought/etc., that might come if/when the aliens show up.

 

We're pretty much going to need a few more katrina / sunami's and major hikes in oil prices to bring about much needed change in the whole global warming issue. I guess it'll happen soon enough at this rate.

Change your view of the world by fixing internal confilicts.

 

It's about motivating. Do you have a message that can get other people excited? Get them motivated to act with you? How you get your message across is equally important.

But yes, it isn't easy to convince people to change. Hell, sometimes it's tough to motivate yourself to change!
