I try to sell them my stuff, and ask them personal questions to mess with them when I am in a good mood. If I am in a bad mood I will ask them for their business address, and mail them a certified letter stating that they are not allowed to call me residence after they receive the letter. In the letter it has loopholes written by a lawyer freind, that states if they call me again, then I will be awarded money by that company.

My conversation goes like this:

Me: Hello???
Them: this is joe shit the ragman with dirty rags
Me: (loud) HELLO??
Them: repeats
Me: YOU ARE WHO?
Them: getting loud reintroduces self
Me: why are you yelling?
Them: sorry is (fill in your name) there
Me: Who wants him, and for what this time?
Them: Starting to get impatient says who they are again.
Me: Don't know any (fill in their name) by that name here.
Them: No (getting really impatient now) I'm (fills in their name)
Me: Well if you aren't here why are you asking me if you are?
Them: HANGS UP!!

Has anyone tried that "Telezapper" thing? I'm thinking about picking one up off Ebay(as I've heard they work pretty well) - just curious if anyone has one or has tried it?

Save your money, in July you can get on the Federal Do Not Call List for free, and in October they begin fining telemarketers that call people on the list. The other thing you can do is get the tones for a disconnected/discontinued phone number, put it on your answering machine ahead of the outgoing message and they drop your number.

I recently saw a story that the companies who make the equipment these evil bastards use to call you are getting around the telezapper. What I don't understand is why they insist on being able to call people who obviously don't want to be contacted since they bought the telezapper. Why waste your time?

If they call at work (which is where I am most of the time) I tell them I am not interested,..... but since they called my business let me tell you a little bit about what we do and sell! I then launch into a sales pitch for our store asking them questions about their family and if the have any kids who could use educational supplies?

I have dumfound more than a few tele-marketers with this! This is only when we are slow and bored.....if we are busy I hang up and be rude to them before they have a chance to be rude to me!
