He got fined 100,000 dollars for writing an article on how to fix playoff reffing in his blog.

Is it that since the NBA is a private organization they can get away with it? Seems like total bs to me.

Take that and double it I don't like how the NBA picks on guys like Cuban who are simply outspoken.

I don't recall Charles Barkley being fined $100,000 for being out spoken.
Sir Charles is 10x more outragous than Cuban.
I wonder what the difference is......

you can't openly criticize the refs without getting a fine. players get fined for this as well. $200k is nothing to cuban.. he's been hit with a $500,000 fine before

The NBA has its rules and has to keep people sticking to the script. Cuban is kind of entertaining sometimes, but he is also an egomaniac who likes all the attention on him. The NBA knocks him down a peg or you would have all the owners acting like jackasses for attention which would get real old, real fast.

I don't mind if they hit Cuban with fines, and Cuban does not miss the money so it continues. They can't fine Barkely because he is not in the league anymore.

VTEC9 wins best sig ever.

I guess my issue is that Cuban posted this on a blog, he didn't drop it at a post-game press conference or anything. I know there are many media outlets, but he was expressing his opinion. I skimmed the article and didn't see anything too inflammatory or even wrong. I don't think he should be fined for that.

Walking on the court, yes. Posting an article in a blog which appeared to have been logical, but contained criticism = to the NBA.
