Default how fast are police cars?

so, how fast are typical cop cars?
i know they have police car version of camero, corvette, etc...
but they don't count. normal, everyday police cars.

i remember when i was little, some older dude told me that cop cars have no ristriction in their engines, plus they have two engines that make them go real fast. yeah, right!

so, how fast are they?

Here in N.C they claim the Trooper Cars will do almost 160 - more or less monte carlo with corvette engine - and the Camero - Yes a Hignway trooper that will RUN. I have read where they have caught people doing 165 in their CamerO

And this is where my tax money is going

WRXs in most states of Australia have been de-commissioned due to faulty speedometers that gave inaccurate radar speed check data most of the time. State governments are still doing payouts for their mistakes.

No such BS over in Japan, you will not be mistaken when you see a white/black R34 GTR in your rear view mirror or an NSX, Rx-7 or something that is basically as fast as what you can buy on the market. Hah! It's as good as Germany or EU nations with their high powered M3s and Porsches.

This is a bit off topic, but why do Americans call the Camaro the "Camero"?

Maybe a trooper will do 160, but what happens when it comes to a corner?

Read where? The badge on the back says "Camaro".

In the UK most Police motorway units are Volvo T5 Estates or Jaguar XJRs, both top out about 155mph stock but the Police forces tend to de-limit them.

Lotus developed a version of its Esprit especially for Police use, pretty awesome performance but I don't believe it was ever fielded due to its cost and limited storage space.

The Ford Crown Victoria will do 125mph with a light bar on top and 137mph without one. The Camaro's i'm not sure but they're all 4sp automatics and I don't think an automatic Z28 will do 160mph. The new Impala's are pretty weak as well the one's without the light bars will only do 125mph. I don't worry about be caught from behind by a cop in my S2000!!!
