I think most people consider virgins to be ones who don't have vaginal intercourse, but the true definition of it is different.

 

I think it's because not having sex in this era is a bit unnatural. You have to fight those urges so you look for a loophole opportunity to keep yourself sane. If you're going to engage in all the other different types of sex, might as well just do it.

 

The history behind all of this is that women of some cultures wish to enjoy themselves and pleasure the man in their life but it is a disgrace for them not to have their hymen intact for their husband on the night of their marriage. This probably isn't completely accurate but that's the main theory surrounding pre-marital anal.
