I used to buy dvds every week. Then i joined netflix and really haven't bought much beyond my super favorites, like Team America, Star Wars trilogy, LOTR trilogy, Harry Potter stuff, etc.
As for tv shows, i only got South Park 1-5, and Chappelle Show. Oh and also collect some anime like Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Samurai Champloo, etc.
I would like to get every season of the xfiles though. But dang, 9 seasons at like ~ $80 or so hurts the wallet!
So i guess i have like 100 or so dvds altogether.

I started buying DVDs when it first came out. I cant believe I payed over 1000 bucks for a first generation DVD player, so anyways I started collection DVDS since 1997 and at first I bought a couple since it was kind of pricey back then almost $30 each. Then I started getting serious about buying DVDs in 1999 and starting buying almost all the new releases every tuesday. I think from 1997 to 2004 I bought over 1,300 DVDs...most of them American movies and some of them Chinese DVDs. I know this is hard to believe but I really spent all my savings buying DVDs. I just cant helped. I bought some crappy ones and I am not proud of myself and I even have some of them unopened! I only buy movies that is really worth it now and try not to buy a lot because my girlfriend gets mad at me and tells me that I am spending my future kids tuition in dvds

As for the rest of them they are all English shows, most of which were shown here on PBS.
Okay..... i only watch PBS on Saturday morning at 8:00 to see Motor Week.

I remember the "RED GREEN" show used to be sort of funny...i think it was on PBS also.???

I have around 300 DVDs, but after I bought all the older movies I really liked, I slowed down a lot.

There are people on avsforum.com who would consider 1300 DVDs a good start, believe it or not.
There's one guy over there who's disabled and does nothing but watch movies and surf the net. He also buys almost every new release, and a year ago he was trying to find different storage methods for them, as he had run out of wall space in his home.
I forget how many DVDs he had at the time, but it was well into the thousands.

good move!!!!

I couldnt' imagine having any more than the dozen that I have. I never watch these. having $10k tied in DVD's seems odd.

Keeps the economy rolling though.

btw, i'm 28. am i the only one like this?
