Who said making money was easy?
If you want to be stuck in regional and NOT take that 10k paycut to make more money down the line, that's on you--not your shitty management.
If you are happy being a pilot, but not happy with your company. try and find work elsewhere. Cut your losses, and make $30k for another two years before you can move up with the "big airlines"

its a very hard job to get and your on CALL ALL OF THE TIME, so no drinking, have to be close by the airport etc.............
For a huge paper I did sophomore year in high school about a career, I did a pilot ('cause it was my dream job). The guy was a Captain flying their G5's. Worked 2 on 3 off--or something like that, and pulled $250k/year.
Also, what about other pilot jobs? I think it'd be a RUSH to be a fire-bomber, and they make $$$. Same with bush pilots in Alaska.
Another guy I interviewed was a bush pilot in the summer, and in 3 months, made like $60k. Then went down to CA to be a firebomber during the fire season, and would make another 70-80k for 6-8 months of work.
^ its not that easy brotha, first off all NetJets just laid-off 500 pilots. Making money may not be easy but Im a highly skilled professional. Also its not a 10,000 paycut, its a 60,000 paycut, and thats just for year 1, not to mention still playing catch u for the next few years.
You have to be a captain at a regional before you go to a "major" 99% of the time anyway, so you go from making lets say 90k to 30k, thats not a 10,000 paycut my friend
Also what you fail to understand when you did your research is I cant jump from airline to airline, unless I want to start on the bottom of another seniority list and go back to 20,000 a year.
There are so many misconceptions about the airline industry, not being a dick, just clarifying
