How much was gas when you first started driving?
In NJ, way back in 1991, I recall regular (87 octane) being in the $0.85 to $0.87 range. . .
Those were the days. . . Except for the fact that my car at the time ('77 Plymouth Volare) only got approximately 12 miles to the gallon

you can't be older than me...*G*
when I was a kid (years ago 1960's), I remember seeing Gas War signs at gas stations, gas was .15 to .19 cents... amazing...
yesterday I got gas (on the MCRD base, retired) and 91 was 2.45 a gallon... off base is even worse...
California is bad but San Diego is even worse... you gotta pay, in many ways, to live in San Diego...

r,
Best price I ever got was .169 a gallon. Yes it says sixteen point nine cents a gallon. That was in 1970 in Detroit. We drove down to pick up some supplies, the price was .199 and on the way back we filled up at .169. However I did pay a premium for the Sunoco 260 that I used in my '65 Mustang 289 HiPo (271HP), it cost me between 25.9 and 28.9 cents a gallon.
