Somehow I've been put in charge of putting together a Spring Break trip for a bunch of friends. I think it's gonna be either Destin or Panama City. Last year we went to Destin and we rented out a house for a few days near the beach, but some other guy planned it out for us.

I just wanted to get some advice from you guys on what things to look out for and maybe where some good places to look would be for renting out condos or houses. I just don't want to get scammed or anything. Thanks for any advice!

If they're friends, then get their input. Unless they're paying you, you don't have to take sole responsibility of the trip.

 

Or call a travel agent, tell them you want to rent a house for the weekend, and split the total cost amongst your friends.

 

It's a total trap. No matter how good a job you do, when you get there most will tell you how you could have planned it better, or they would have rather gone to place A B or C.

Everyone else is to lazy to do it and then will be an ingrate when you get there.

If you are driving there is not much to plan besides getting a hotel. If you are flying then you may be able to get a group flight rate through a travel agent, and maybe even bigger discounts if you package hotel and car as well.

Depends on how big the group is, but travel agents can still beat the websites sometimes if you have a big enough group.

I had a destination wedding in Hawaii and I was amazed how low a rate the travel agent got for a group of 25. People got air hotel and car for just barely more than flight alone on all of the websites.
