the biggest problem is of course the integration of both american and taiwanese superstitions i've picked up over the years. for example: i avoid the numbers 13 and 4 like a plague. 13 is pretty self explanatory, and the number 4 sounds like "death" in many asian cultures (not limited to taiwanese/chinese), but i love the numbers 7 (lucky 7), 8 and 9. the numbers "168" put together is also considered lucky (ask anyone who's from Hong Kong).
