back when I moved into my current place of residence, I needed an isp. time warner cable took too long to respond (over a week), so I ended up going with at&t dsl out of convenience and price.
I signed up for the 3mb limit for $40, and it's pretty much been downhill from there.
instillation of the wireless modem was a pain in the ass on vista, as their softwear wasn't upgraded at that point (8/08).
talking to them on the phone is always a nightmare. the voice recognition prompt they use is annoying, and then when I get a person, they're usually in india. there's been several times I've called and been transferred multiple times. but despite this, I don't have to call often enough to make a deal about things.
then comes the hassle with paying the bill. if you pay by phone, they charge a $5 convenience fee. to set up an online payment system, they have to send the password through snail mail.
navigating their website is almost as bad as their phone systems. too many sub-pages, and not very streamlined at all.
and then last night, my wireless modem went to shit on me.... a month and a half out of the 1-year warranty. I called up this morning, and someone in india told me I'd have to buy a new modem. then they transferred me to someone in georgia (the state) to try and see if they could extend the warranty, but I was told I'd have to spend $80 on a new one, plus shipping.
now fed up with everything, I tell them I just want to discontinue service.
so georgia transfers me to this girl, with the prettiest sounding voice. she tells me she's sorry for everything, and offers me a new modem (w/free shipping), my 3mb limit raised to 6mb, and a $5 reduction in my monthly bill (to $35).
I accepted
now I feel all dirty....

I don't think I'd be swayed. Considering the depreciation on a GM. Even if I sold it the following day, I could get a better blowjob from a hotter girl for less money somewhere else. To be honest I'd be more swayed by a large bag of weed in the trunk.
