if howard stern wasnt around, there would be some other famous person who encourages stupid behavior around and this probably would have happened anyway in some other form or fashion. people can e dumb. plain and simple. but dario, just like i said yesterday, u cant let that get to you. this is a horrible tragedy and at least you are of sound mind to have the respect for the situation that you do.

i personally cant wait to listen to howard tomorrow to hear what he has to say.

He will probably be oblivious to what his fan did. I'm tired of trying to defend my point though. People seem to defend the actions of fans of HS and I don't understan why.

Noone is defending the fan. However, what you're proposing opens a huge can of worms I'd rather not have opened. Our rights are constantly shrinking, and having them shrink more because some idiot made some stupid comments isn't on my to do list. This is something that should have been dealt with in the home years ago when the idiot was growing up. Unfortunately our country has been in a moral tailspin for a few decades now. But that's another issue. This one is about free speech. What's sad to me is that you don't get why people aren't jumping on your bandwagon....

Make up your mind. Is he oblivious or is he encouraging it? Your logic is a little off.

You can't blame Howard for what ONE of his MILLIONS of fans has done. His fan base has the same percentage of a$$holes as any other group of people has.

For instance why not ban the Pope for the actions of these anti-abortion a$$holes who shoot Abortion Doctors. Better yet ban him for the actions of his pedophile priests.

That would make more sense than banning Howard. As far as I know Howard is not responsible (directly or indirectly) for anyones murder or rape.

Comparatively I find phony phone calls low on my list of things that I find offensive.

I spent nearly half my life as a journalist before moving on with a career change so my perspective on freedom of speech and rhetoric which attempts to discourage it are rather passionate. The search for the 5 W's and one "H" has been the elementary beginning of any news story (who, what, when, where, why and how) and oftentimes with television, the "rush" to bring breaking news to the viewer is a balancing act between "being the first to report" and "being the first to report poorly."
For instance, it's quite common for eyewitnesses to inaccurately detail an automobile accident they witnessed so when I was looking at the lst tower on fire while listening to an "eyewitness" describe a "Cesna" hitting the building, common sense dictated that Cessna's don't have wingspans of nearly five stories. Duh.
Just because news gatherers are trying to establish those 5 W"s and "H" moments after an incident doesn't mandate the viewer losing all sense of intelligence. You can't expect a news station to say, "well, we know the shuttle blew up but since it will take months for anyone to figure out what happened, there's no sense asking a question until then."
One man's Cessna is another's United. News gathering isn't rocket science. You ask a question and for history's sake, hope the answer reflects the truth.

If it was not Howard it would be someone else,

The thread would just contain a different name.

While some fans can change how someone looks at a person,

These fans of any show make themselves impressionable.

Not the person they admire talking to them everyday,

Only wrong choices they make on their own.

We all have choices.

Well put axcilla. While I don't condone what this person did and am still not a fan of Howard Stern and his antics, each person is responsible for their actions and this fan's actions were insensitve. I apologize to all who feel I've been incorrect in my assessment of this event.

My point is that one bad celebrity is the initiator of these types of behavior. I know there may be some morons that might do something like this, but Howard loves the publicity he gets with it.
LMFAO

This is Funny!
You compare Howard Stern to Murders of History...all Howard does is have a talk show...you need to find a better example!! you blame Howard for Jews being killed by Hitler?? WTF!! what is your point? oh! you don't have one.

-Peace-

His reasoning was dead on. Eliminate the a$$hole, you silence the followers.....
